Storyline 360 – 2

Introduction & The Hierarchy of Controls

This project was created to demonstrate a more engaging, lively, and effective model for an interactive safety module. The example focuses on the introduction and the “Hierarchy of Controls” section, utilizing Articulate Storyline 360. It includes three key sections: Learn, Practice, and Quiz.
The primary goal is to allow users to first learn the material, practice it, and then test their knowledge. The module employs animations, drag-and-drop interactions with images, and scenario-based quizzes. This approach shifts away from a traditional instructor-led format, making the experience interactive and visually accessible, especially for users with limited English proficiency.

Info

Audience: New Employees

Tools used: Articulate Storyline 360

KPI: To increase safety awareness and foster a culture of shared responsibility for workplace safety.

The Problem

Employees often witness or create safety hazards but fail to report them to the safety team. Many continue engaging in risky behaviors, like distracted walking, which can lead to severe consequences. Minor adjustments in safety habits could significantly improve workplace safety and prevent accidents.

The Solution

Given the diverse workforce, with many employees being English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), we needed a module that emphasized visual elements and simple language. The solution was to create an interactive, engaging, and personalized experience using Storyline 360.

The module breaks down the various levels of safety measures through animations and scenarios, providing clear, relatable examples.

To reinforce understanding, we added a knowledge check in the form of a quiz, allowing users to test their grasp of the material before moving forward.
